Young musicians ages 7-18 are invited to join with other serious musicians to explore the world of chamber music. Camp Adagio will be held at the Middlebury Community Music Center from August 18-22. Teaching Staff will include pianist Sadie Brightman, composer Jorge Martin, jazz guitarist and composer Justin Perdue, and violinist Emily Sunderman.
Mixed-instrument and mixed-aged groups of students will work on their chamber music skills through studying arrangements based on Suzuki repertoire, Bob Dylan, Mozart, and other composers, learn new performance and instrument techniques, work towards strengthening communication skills and help to build the community that takes music education in Middlebury to the next level. This is going to be an intensely fun week of music, play, performance and learning in one of the most elegant and historically significant spaces in all of Middlebury.
If interested participants need to attend the VYO (Vermont Youth Symphony) camp days, rates can be prorated and a schedule can be accommodated so students have quite possibly the most awesome and inspirational week of music ever.
